Yesterday morning, October 9th, Carmen's little body was unable to keep fighting.
She brought us so much joy and happiness.
She taught us what love really was.
Now it is time for her to teach someone else.
We love you Carmen with all our hearts.
Such joy. Trying on her new Halloween Costume with her new toy Makana. This picture was taken the afternoon of Saturday October 7th.
You are on your wave now sweetie. "You Got This"
Finding joy in the simplest of things. Teaching us to laugh and love more than we knew was possible.
Aloha our sweet baby.
Oh, I'm sobbing in pain for you. I'm so glad you got to have Carmen in your lives while you did, but my heart is breaking for you. I'm so sorry. My heart and thoughts are with you and your family right now.
ReplyDeleteTears are falling on Kauai for your pain. I had followed Carmen's story through your blog and updates sent to my email, but didn't expect to read these words today. ReplyDeleteHow lucky to have held this precious heart in yours, if only for a short time. May you find comfort in the smiles, hugs and laughs you shared.
ReplyDeleteSquamish is crying for your pain. We hold you in our every thought and if we could in our arms. Surf forever Carmen. Love your Belly Sisters.
ReplyDeleteI have only just found your blog today...as a fellow photographer shared a link to your story. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I couldn't help but scroll back through the archives and read through this past year of Carmen and marvel at how beautiful she was through the pictures you posted. I am so sorry that I never got to meet her but I promise I will never forget her. She is simply amazing.
ReplyDeleteMy heart continues to cry for you all..
ReplyDeleteHello my friend - The Frei's are thining of you and your family during this very difficult time. Having a son that was diganosed with ALL at the age of 7 months we can relate to your journey. Infections, harsh chemo treatments, many, many over nights in the hospital, sickeness, infections, LP's you name it...we can relate. We are so sorry for your loss and Chris I think of you and your family's pain every day since hearing about your dear Carmen on the tradeshow floor at IMEX in Vegas last week. I pray for your strength and hope you remember all the joy she brought you in her short life. You will always wonder why my dear Carmen - but you will find a reason with time. No one is ever sure what that is but you will find it. - Thinking of you and your family and hope to see you sooner rather than later for a big, big hug from VA!
