Thank you, all for your outpouring of support and concern to help address the Methotrexate Shortage.
The whole thing was unbelievable and shocking that in our society we are at risk of running out of life saving drugs. Clearly, it was something that we and many other people take for granted each day.
Accurate information was also hard to come by during the first few days of the shortage announcement.
I am happy to report that the lack of supply of Methotrexate has been addressed to meet the demand. Two of the pharmaceutical companies increased their production and the FDA made quick adjustments to allow for the importing of Methotrexate if necessary.
When Heather was finally able to speak with one of Carmen's Doctors we learned that the Kapiloani Hospital had anticipated this shortage and began stockpiling Methotrexate for a few months. Even though we had a few scary weeks it was nice to know that Carmen was not in immediate danger.
We have had an exciting few weeks.
Grandma and Grandpa White arrived last Saturady.
Carmen went for her Kindergarten Assessment last Saturday.
Trevor and Carmen are doing great in their gymnastics and swimming classes.
Everyone is doing great!!!!
Aloha,
Team White
